How It Started...
I began taking cake decorating classes and learned how to make different types of icing from scratch, as well as how to use decorating tips with icing bags. I was required to make icing and cake weekly for my classes, and found it very therapeutic. With all of the shows on television right now, how can one not get into the whole idea of cupcakes!? They are cute, personal- size cakes with their own little decorations, but bursting with flavor. Then I really started experimenting- every weekend I baked a new recipe of cupcakes and would take leftovers to work and hand them out to coworkers and members (I work full time at a tennis club). Soon after, people started asking if I could bake cupcakes for their upcoming events.
And now, here I am, sitting in disbelief at how fast this at-home business has taken off! The orders just keep rolling in and I am in awe of the support I am receiving as a young female entrepreneur. This is a very exciting (and new) journey for me, as I am still learning how to make it all work. I am so excited to see where this business takes me and how much I can grow. For now I will sit back and try to wrap my head around all that is going on and will just enjoy wherever this ride takes me!

About Me
I have lived in Toledo my whole life, but would love to move somewhere warmer near the ocean some day. I recently married my high school sweetheart and life couldn't be better! I love baseball- I am a huge fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Toledo Mud Hens. I have been to nearly every opening day game at Fifth Third Field since they relocated to downtown Toledo, and we have traveled to other major league stadiums in the country. I consider myself a "life-long student", as I love to learn! I hold a degree in Interior Design from Davis College, and am currently pursuing a degree from Colorado Technical University in Web Development. I work full time as a manager at Shadow Valley Tennis Club, and have been there for three and a half years.
Here is the part where I get to thank those who have been so supportive of me throughout all of my new endeavors... First, my husband. What would I do without my personal taste- tester? You are always such a good sport about any of my projects I tackle and never complain that there is flour and baking pans everywhere, or that we can't use the kitchen table because it is covered with cupcakes or craft projects. Instead, you keep motivating me to continue to succeed and pursue my dreams, and even lend a hand when I am behind or overwhelmed. To my family, who has always supported me in all that I've done, and to my in-laws, who have helped support my business by ordering cupcakes and spreading the word. And to the courageous members and co-workers of Shadow Valley, who were always willing to be my guinea pigs and try the cupcakes, and those who just ordered them without trying them. Last but not least, to all my Facebook friends who helped my business page and shared the link to spread the word. Thank you to everyone who has helped me become successful and contributed to my fast- growing business!
